Rebuilding the lives of children & young people after the death of a parent

About Wombat Wish

Wombat’s Wish is a grassroots not-for-profit organisation based in Clifton Springs, Victoria. We are community-focused, with programs and services that are therapeutic and evidence-based.

Our mission is to support children and young people after the death of their parent/carer, with our outreach encompassing the entire state of Victoria, Australia.

Wombat's Wish Weekend Grief Programs

Our weekend grief programs are a lot of fun! They’re also incredibly meaningful and helpful, whether your family is six months or five years into your grief journey.

Our weekend programs are a safe place for a grieving child/young person to grow. Using programs developed by our psychologists, the program helps children and young people better understand their grief, and teaches them strategies to regulate difficult emotions.

Grief Support

Wombat’s Wish can provide one-to-one grief counselling support for children and young people aged 5 – 17 years old that are registered with our program.

A qualified, experienced psychologist and mental health social worker will facilitate these sessions.  The service is free for families to access
